Hi,
Today I moved from BT to Sky - everything is working fine apart from external access to my NAS box, which worked fine with the BT Hub.
I should say that I have a Unfi Wifi network with three wifi access points ethernet connected back to a gateway with an EdgeRouter 4 in front of that. All the Sky Hub Wifi is turned off. I am just using the Sky Hub as a dumb router to my EdgeRouter 4.
On my NAS box I have DDNS configured with no-ip and my WAN Sky IP is now correctly looked up by the no-ip DNS name. My NAS box has a static IP.
I have turned on the DMZ on the Sky Router to my EdgeRouter 4 - via the MySky app (what a pointless thing to have to do, why you cannot set it directly on the hub I don't know).
I have turned off the Sky Hub firewall.
I have configured my EdgeRouter 4's firewall to allow a port to my NAS box - this has not changed from when I had it working with the BT Hub.
I can hit the internal IP given to my EdgeRouter 4 from the Sky Hub and access my NAS box.
However I still cannot hit the external IP address and reach it.
Anything obvious that I am doing wrong?
Cheers,
Adrian

Find out more@Lhasadreams not 100% sure but check the Sky Hub's web interface (not the app this time) and look at the Sky Netwwork connection to check that the MAP-T sharing is set to 1:1 as it should be if you have set up the DMZ properly if it isnt a reboot might help.

Perhaps note that no Sky Hub model actually has a 'dumb router' (I suspect you mean 'modem') mode.

Thanks for the reply.
MAP-T sharing is set to 1:1
A reboot didn't help.
A bit stumped now

Yea that was my bad use of terminology.

The plot thickens!
I had a sudden thought and tried to access the NAS from my mobile using its 5G network, it worked 🙂
So, it appears that there is something in the Sky Hub that does not allow access to its external WAN IP if you are coming from the LAN network attached to it and back in.
Not a biggy as I can uses the LAN IP to access it and WAN when out and about - just different behaviour to the BT Hub.

Ok so I got it working when I am on my LAN but trying to access on the external no-ip DNS Name or IP address.
I had to use the MySky app to add a Port Forwrdting rule.
I added the port that my NAS box is sitting on and then it worked.
Strange as I though that putting my EdgeRouter 4 in the DMZ opened all the ports and my EdgeRouter 4 takes control of my Firewall.
I started reading about hairpin NAT and how the Sky Hub does not support it and is what is required to make LAN access looping back from the WAN work. I guess that the Sky Hub port forwarding has a similar effect.
Anyway happy that I am now back to the same place as I was with the BT Hub!
Thanks for your suggestions.
