Re: YouTube videos buffering but only at home

Hi,

Not sure what keeps happening to my posts but it's to do with routing.

The servers hosting YouTube and play store are not reachable on sky broadband, or some of them are not.

But they are on other internet providers, so it's something that a normal reboot or router swap won't fix.

Core networking team or openreach need to looking into their routing.

Example server would be rr1---sn-cn3tc-ac5r.googlevideo. com

Many thanks

Mr Palmer

Re: YouTube videos buffering but only at home

Hi

I can't do updates on my apps  on my phone connected to WiFi. I had to use mobile data. And my youtube still is buffering.  I asked sky do you look at these forums, they said we don't ' but there is some one who's does. . We will see what happens.

Re: Can't update or install apps on android or YouTube not working properly. Yorkshire area,

It's been a week now of having this issue rendering YouTube unusable for my household. I got a new SR203 router in the post today after informing Sky a few days ago and it hasn't resolved the issue. This is in kirklees (West Yorkshire).

As it has now been a week without any formal acknowledgement of an issue from Sky, how can this be escalated further up the chain?

Re: Can't update or install apps on android or YouTube not working properly. Yorkshire area,

This isn't an issue at the customers ends. This is a core networking issue that Sky need to acknowledge and resolve.

It may even be out of their control to fix if they immediately, but they still need to acknowledge.

the effect is simple, several Google endpoints are non routable to (seemingly certain regional, Yorkshire) sky customers. Manifesting with YouTube on mobiles and Google Play on mobiles working inadequately.

no amount of sky engineers/new routers or open reach engineers visiting property will fix this issue.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

@Dr_eadles see this post from Sky which indicates they are aware of the issue and it is being worked on. It is marked as the answer to bring it to people's attention @KevNewMedia will edit that pist or replace it as and when the fix is in place.

Re: Can't update or install apps on android or YouTube not working properly. Yorkshire area,

Hi,

I'm having the same problem for over a week. My playstore does not update or install any apps. It keeps saying pending. Every other devices at home seems to be working normally bar Google playstore. Strange thing is Samsung cloud/store updates work fine. I've tried every troubleshooting options and hard reset my phone too but still not working.

Went to my mates restaurant in York and used his WiFi and it worked straight away.

Judging by the posts in this forum by other users, Sky are clueless.

I'm based in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

Re: Can't update or install apps on android or YouTube not working properly. Yorkshire area,

I've had all these problems for about a week now. But also for me I can't watch any red button content on sky sports +

Does anyone else have this or is it sheer coincidence?

Hi

So glad to see someone else with the same issue!

We are also in the Yorkshire area and having the exact same issues! Did you get it sorted?

Re: Can't update or install apps on android or YouTube not working properly. Yorkshire area,

Hmm the weird thing is the Youtube app on the TV seems to be working ok, it's just on mobiles and also the Skygo app doesn't work... the issue doesn't seem to be a physical issue which is what Sky are alluding to as the speeds pick up fine on tests amongst other things.

I guess whej the enginerr comes on Monday he/she can see for themselves.

Will update u all!

Re: Can't update or install apps on android or YouTube not working properly. Yorkshire area,

It's Google & YouTube that are being blocked by Sky or Openreach's servers so sadly an engineer won't be able to rectify
