Re: YouTube videos buffering but only at home
Hi. I've noticed this with youtube too. I'm in West Yorkshire. Is it an issue with the area?

Re: YouTube videos buffering but only at home
It appears to be a West Yorkshire issue, I suspect it's an Openreach problem

Re: Can't update or install apps on android or YouTube not working properly. Yorkshire area,
I have received no updates either. I don't really know what to do. I didn't want to cancel sky broadband however I have my studies starting end of this month and I need to do updates on my PC for the tutorials and discussions 🤦♀️ sadly it won't let me do that either

Re: YouTube videos buffering but only at home
Like others they haven't acknowledged they have a problem, just usual resets etc and I even got a new router today which didn't solve the problem at all.

Re: Can't update or install apps on android or YouTube not working properly. Yorkshire area,
for people with little or poor mobile data.
I can only suggest the protonvpn free app / service workaround
Proton VPN: Private, Secure – Apps on Google Play
You can get it for free by "skipping" paid for plan - it will work over sky wifi when vpn running

This was the reply I got to my complaint
"Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the issue you're experiencing with updating apps on your Google devices using Sky WiFi. I understand how frustrating this must be, especially since it seems to be affecting several customers in your area.
To resolve this issue, our Fibre Broadband Technical Team will need to assist you directly. They are best equipped to handle such technical matters. We will make an effort to contact you on 17/01/2024 to provide further assistance and work towards a solution."

Re: YouTube videos buffering but only at home
Just on phone to Sky now. Usual phone drone with no real idea. Took ages to persuade him to get Openreach to look into this. It's weird, cos my laptop streams absolutely fine. Only seems to be mobile apps which suffer with the buffering.

Re: YouTube videos buffering but only at home
Im looking for updates on this too. No sky go live tv working, cant install or update apps on android, youtube buffering. Complained to sky but looking at all the forums on this matter im not hopeful its going to be sorted soon. Im not a technical person but tried all the turning off router, deleting stuff and all that jazz nothings worked. Im stumped

Re: YouTube videos buffering but only at home
@katiemb is the buffering only affecting your mobile devices, or is it a problem with laptops as well?

Re: YouTube videos buffering but only at home
Also, are we all android users here? Or is it affecting apple, etc?
