Can't update or install apps on android or YouTube not working properly. Yorkshire area,

My router hasnt moved either and it still fails to work, I wish it would move out of the yorkshire/humber area then it might work again 🤣😂

My complaint was put through to the priority team and I spoke to them today, they said they would get back to me in a week to see if the problem has been resolved. I have given them a link to this page and the advisor did say the complaints are escalated when more complaints come through.

Hi everyone,

I've looked into it and found that there's a routing issue with Openreach, which is the company that manages a big part of the UK's internet infrastructure. Essentially, the connection between Sky's network and Google's/YouTube's servers is broken. This is why you can’t access those sites and services on your phone/TV.

I’ve reported the issue to the relevant parties, so they’re aware and hopefully working on a fix. This is a problem on their end, so there's nothing wrong with your devices or Wi-Fi setup.

If you're desperate to access these sites, you might try switching to mobile data temporarily, but let’s hope this gets resolved soon.

Back on with sky today. The denial of any issue is staggering. Speaking to someone who will not acknowledge the issue. No chance. Promised a callback today from Friday. Nothing. Trying to make a complaint. Impossible. Sick to death of this. Any ideas at this stage welcome. Think we should all vote with our feet and leave. Silence on this page from official sky source too. And yet this is the first place they tell u to look? Shambles.

I think unfortunately the folk on the phones will have no idea. (No disrespect meant to them). There's obviously a team responsible for any changes made and they absolutely must be aware of this. It shouldn't take this long for that team to realise what they've done wrong and fix it.

This doesnt sound promising at all. Its been going on too long now. Iv been back and forth with sky too but all they say is the usual unplug, uninstall and so on! Iv stressed about this issue effecting quite a few people and told them about this forum too but they are failing to acknowledge. Im still having all the same issues, no sky go live tv, cant download or install updates from playstore and youtube buffering on android devices. I cant believe they have even suggested its placement of router! My router has been in the same place its always been since i had it installed

In the interests of research I visited a local pub that uses sky for their customer broadband 

It's a business version with captive portal but provided by sky. The ip address shows as somewhere just north of London 

Everything works perfectly.  Vpn back home to my network broken

I tried traceroute to rr1---sn-cn3tc-ac5r.googlevideo.com

It responds fine. Maybe sky business broadband doesn't use openreach   or maybe not the west Yorkshire part of openreach

I dont think it's effecting everyone in West Yorkshire. I know of one other personal sky customer, near me who is having none of these issues.

@Skymouse  my mum lives at other side of wakefield to me and she has the issue ive got open reach comming out 2moz evening ill update what they say but im reluctant to let them change anything when there is a definate problem.

The tech guy that came to ours today only made a note of the router settings, model,version,ect, the details of the devices we were having problems with and version number of the playstore (only issue I have is with the playstore)

So they shouldnt change anything

I am in West Yorkshire (near Keighley). I have none of these issues. I should note hovever that I am not using the Sky router - I use an Asus router on my full fibre.

Have also tried the traceroute others have mentioned and all working.
