Can’t see cctv images via XMEye app via wifi
I have a sannce cctv system and view the images via apple mobile devices via the XMEye app. When using the mobile signal the cctv images show. When on WiFi at home, the signal does not always show. It states connection failed. It used to be reliable until earlier this year,
Any help on settings or solutions would be appreciated.

Hi @Tewy73
When using the app do you enter any sort of IP address or DNS address? Or is it just a login ?

Re: Can’t see cctv images via XMEye app via wifi
You don't state the model number of the camera but that would be useful? But if it is a standalone camera then these work by logging into a cloud service for public IP information of the camera and directing the traffic accordingly for the camera and XMEye application to work correctly when the ISP uses dynamic IP address which Sky do use.
The dynamic IP address can change with Sky, eg: when router firmware gets updated, on outages and if you have a fault; when this happens the camera may need rebooting to update the dynamic IP address on the cloud service and direct the camera accordingly to be able for the service XMEye application on the phone to work. It may also be worth trying to close the application on the phone completely and reopen it to establish a connection.
If you post your router stats we can check whether the broadband is working correctly without issues.

Re: Can’t see cctv images via XMEye app via wifi
@jamesn123 from the internet.....XMEye is a P2P (Peer-to-peer) communication component designed to help its users access their security cameras and DVRs from any part of the world without the need for any configuration. Accessing the device through a P2P network requires you to know the Unique Identity (UID) of the device.
@mae-3 some more information to help you help me. The camera system is sannce PoE cctv system connecting back to a dvr. The DVR is connected to my home Router via a network cable.
When I open the iDevice XMEye app connecting by a mobile phone signal the feed works fine. This connects and picks up the camera network settings and shows the camera image.
However, when I connect via my Sky wifi, the camera settings are not being picked up and the image won't connect.
The systems have been turned off multiple times but it makes no difference.
My assumption was a firewall setting blocking the feed but I have no blocked sites.
Any ideas appreciated.

How long did you leave it? It can take up to 24hours for changes on Sky shield to be applied

Re: Can’t see cctv images via XMEye app via wifi
It sounds like the router is isolating the wireless network from the LAN in your description either occassionally or permentally with an issue on the Sky router. Do you know the camera IP address and can you ping it from wireless if you cannot do then its isolated from LAN when on wireless? Also, can you ensure the DVR system has the correct LAN IP address if it was set manually in correct 192.168.0.0/24 subnet?
[add] A good tool if you're using an Apple device over wireless is "IT Tools" which allows one to scan and ping the home network devices and see all the devices on the network.
