Can’t log into router settings

Hi,

I've tried logging into the router settings by following instructions on here but they aren't working. I've also tried resetting my hub but also hasn't worked. Can anyone advise what to do?

thanks!

@LeahO99  I've removed your duplicate post that you added to another thread after you raised this one.  Crossposting is not helpful and won't get a quicker response from the forum.

Welcome to the Sky Community

  • What device are you using to log in with?
  • Which Sky Hub do you have?

@LeahO99Just follow the intructions that @Mark-Br  posted with the username and password for the router type you have.

Re: Can’t log into router settings

I’ve already tried those steps and the log in keeps bouncing back for better words. The log in box just clears and does nothing. I've tried resetting the router also and then retrying. I've tried multiple browsers and in private/incognito modes also to no luck 😞

@LeahO99Which browser are you using and exactly what are you typing in. Please do not type in your Wi-Fi password into this thread. But just say what you are typing in each box.

Re: Can’t log into router settings

I have tried chrome, Firefox and Microsoft edge on laptop and safari and chrome on my iPhone. I have typed user: admin and then password: "my Wi-Fi password"

@LeahO99 it is therefore likely that the password has been changed which you can sort by resetting the hub. I know you said you had done that but do it again but this time press and hold in the reset pin for at least 20 seconds as if you release it too early the hub doesnt reset to the factory.settings after rebooting.

Did you try the user/password combinations given above? If so and the password still isn't being accepted, have you tried @Chrisee suggestion in resetting the router. The WiFi password you need will be printed on the router.

@Pennerz one other possibility there is a known issue between Apple devices running ios and Sky hubs. The best idea is to try a different device but if you only have iThings use Chromecas a browser rather then Safari and be pateient as to get in you may need several attempts.

Remember that the user name is always just admin (lower case a) but the password is either sky (lower case s) or the default wifi password on the hub's label as explained in an earlier post. The admin password does not automatically change if  you change the wifi password yourself.

Trying to log in online using my username and password off my router so I can validate my Ethernet cable connection but we'll not let me sign in

@Jasonbonnie the advice given higher in the thread is correct but note the need to avoid using Apple devices if possible and possibility somebosy may have changed the log in. A full reset by holding in the reset pin until the power light flashes will always return a Sky hub to its default settings.

Re: Can’t log into router settings

For me it was nothing more than my bad eyesight, on the password it was a lowercase k rather than a uppercase K looked the same to me. Took months to work it out.
