Can't download or update applications over Wifi, works with Mobile Data

@AndyTaylor13 the fault being discussed in this thread affects Googles app thus is under investigation Sky will update the post marked as thecanswer as and when thry have something to report.

Update. My apps on my android are now able to download and update using WiFi

After speaking to a completely bewildered member of the specialist broadband team and escalating the issue up to the specialist network team it would seem for the moment all services are up and running again. Let's see if this is "problem solved" Cross yer fingers everyone.

A few months after the origingal thread here, but this is happening to mine and my husbands phones tonight. We thought it might be a google problem, but decided to try turning off wifi on phones to use data, and updates for apps now download. We are on sky mobile as well as broadband, but the mobile seems fine.

Oddly too, new installs of apps go through, just not updates!

Worth a router reboot maybe? Or is this a problem beyond that?

@Redqueen-PSO Go for the reboot first for sure, even better switch it off for 10 minutes before restarting!

Just checked play store had 9 apps for updates on Android Samsung A54 downloaded All and they All installed as expected. And for me that is good as i by no means have a phone clue....

A router reboot helped a little. Apps after a couple of cancel and retries have updated.

Having read the thread more thoroughly prior to the reboot we checked YouTube. I couldn't get videos to play at all. After reboot it seems better, but hubby's is having a lot of random buffering that we don't normally have 

My phone has found an Google play system update, but even after reboot that will only download 1% and gives up. Data signal is too weak for this one. Guess we'll keep trying in the morning.

Still the same as his morning. One app wanting an update, downloaded 51% and then just not moving.  We are Midlands too so possibly a local issue?

I couldn't watch YouTube videos last night on my phone, but after watching the same video through the sky q box, the phone then woke up and it played. It only seems to be affecting our phones. Other devices seem ok. Really strange!

Me too - cant update over wifi and some YouTube videos don't work.
