Having the same issue here on our mobiles and when trying to watch anything on our SkyQ box that requires downloading. Any update on this?

Oh, and I'm in Leeds so same locality. I've just installed my VPN on the phones and that works so it's defiitely something Sky network related. Waiting a week is ridiculous when lots of our Sky services we pay for are now unusable.

Having the exact same issue here.
Sky WiFi is preventing Google Play store from downloading/updating apps. Works on mobile data. Other app stores are fine. Tried literally everything.
Will keep an eye on this thread. Would appreciate any solution when somebody hears anything from Sky.

I'm Having the same issue, I've been communicating with Google play support and they've offered loads of suggestions but to no avail, if I turn off my WiFi connection there's no trouble at all, fortunately I have enough on my mobile data package but it really needs to be sorted out soon, I am also in the West Yorkshire area BTW

Just spoke to Martin at Sky Tech Support (nice guy).
As a workaround until the wider problem is fixed, he suggested trying a VPN. I downloaded a free VPN from Play Store (using my mobile data, as obviously the WiFi wouldn't let me!) and it worked. Play Store and YouTube worked using WiFi whilst on the VPN.
I then turned the VPN off and, remarkably, it still worked fine. I asked my wife to try it on her phone (she was having the exact same issue) and it all worked fine.
Not sure if it will remain that way or if I'll have to keep periodically using the VPN, but might be worth you all trying it in the meantime.
Martin advised that the wider problem is being looked into by Sky, and it does appear to be affecting York
shire/Humber.

Yes, a VPN does work. However, while I can use one on our phones, I can't use it on my SkyQ box which is also having issues with some services.
At least they seem to have recognised that there is an issue and are looking into it.

Promised a phone call on Saturday but it keeps being rescheduled by text and now "due" 3.30 to 4.30 this afternoon. I want a free data SIM or compo for services paid for but not getting. So let's see.

Sky Broadband doesn't supply SIMs to fill in for cabled internet connection issues. The partial loss of functionality won't be covered by the Ofcom compensation scheme: it's between you and Sky to negotiate anything else.

I know, that's what I am doing.

You need to download a free vpn in the meantime apparently whilst they fix the issue
