@marcolo the BT set top box wont work with Sky broadband it only works with BT Broadband.

A older BT TV box should still work for reception and recording digital terrestrial television broadcast from a local mast and received via an aerial but won't have any online channel availability: as @Chrisee indicates that only functions where BT is the ISP.

 

I believe more recent BT TV hardware is on loan anyway and cannot be retained after leaving BT Broadband.
