@marsha101 As mentioned in earlier posts operating any wifi network without the most reliable security which is WPA2 is strongly not advised. It is electronically the same as leaving your front door wide open. Any printer that cannot connect securely to a modern wifi network should only be used in a cabelled configuration.
Most printers be linked either by using the WPS system as entering passwords is often impossible or via a third party device to set up the connection after which some printers can be unplugged and used wirelessly. If you do not have a device such as a laptop connected to the network which has a USB interface that supports the printer to do thst set up you are stuck. .
