Can I get one line from Virgin media and another from Sky?

So my family home currently has Virgin media and I'm looking to get sky broadband for myself seperately.

I contacted virgin media and they told me I could. Is this true just making sure before I start to order my new contract etc?

This is what they said.

'Hi Daniel, so having 2 separate connections is possible as long as their two different connections for example Virgin Via co-ax and sky via Fibre, the only issue is if the modems close together it may actually cause interference with the bands and frequency's. Usually we would suggest 1 main line and if needed a mesh system ( This would be third party ) or we do have a wifi pod available to fill in the gaps for rooms or areas that struggle with connection and signal ^Craig'

@dc2002

You can have Sky Broadband and Virgin in the same house, quite a few forum members have more than one connection. The thing you generally cant do is have two lines from the same ISP (so cant have two from Sky).

@dc2002 Sky use the Openreach network like most ISPs so you will need an operational Openreach phone line. One issue that does come up is Virgin Media engineers often have disconnected the Openreach wiring when setting up their system. Therefore when Openreach come to activate the line it doesnt work and there is a delsy while the line gets fixed.

@Chrisee

That is no problem. The main thing is it will work 😉
