Re: Can I buy a Max router?
A lot extra to pay per month. Is it really worth it. I get wifi where I want it just some streams with dolby atmos it buffers and just won't carry on playing. Would a booster make any difference?

Re: Can I buy a Max router?
New Ultrafast connections now get the Max Hub as default hardware, but not the rest of the Max bundle (including loan of pods) unless they add the WiFi Max subscription.

Re: Can I buy a Max router?
I only upgraded recently to ultrafast and didn't get it but I don't want to pay monthly for it. It's only a few streams that don't play. If I get a booster online do I have to have a subcription for it to boost the wifi?

You wouldn't be able to use a Max pod because the only legitimate source for those is on loan from Sky with a Max subscription.
Non-Sky 'booster' (actually range extender / relay) hardware may help.

Re: Can I buy a Max router?
What about a sky Q booster would that work? It's my amazon fire cube I'm trying to get better wifi on
EDIT: I see it would only work with a sky product so that's not going to do my amazon box. Can I ask is the SR203 I was sent wifi 6? If so I'll change my fire box to the newer and that may help

No, the Max Hub is the first Sky router hardware specified to WiFi 6 (802.11ax)
The Sky Broadband Hub and Q Hub are 802.11ac ('Wifi 5' although no-one calls it that ; )

Re: Can I buy a Max router?
Thanks. No point changing my deicce to the newer one then. I'm already obviously paying a lot more for the ultrafast per month so can't really afford extra on top for the Max just to boost a few streams.

Re: Can I buy a Max router?
I picked one up on eBay to replace my old Sky Q hub (i'm on the superfast package). This will work ok, right?

Re: Can I buy a Max router?
@SameOld You should return it and request a refund, the hubs remain the property of Sky and cannot be legally sold.

Re: Can I buy a Max router?
@SameOld Sky are in the process of replacing the flat Sky Q hubs with the black Sky Broadband hub which is a distict improvment so if you wait until they contact you you will get a new hub at no cost. For superfast the white hubhas minimal advantages and possibly a disadvantage as it does not allow Q TV boxes to act as wifi hot spots if you have any of those
65inch Sky Glass, 3 Sky Streaming Pucks, Sky Ultrafast + and Sky SR213(white Wifi Max hub) main Wifi from 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units in access point mode
