Hi.
I've recently ordered Sky Ultrafast Plus but it's not being installed till the beginning of February. I want to get things ready for when the engineer comes. By this, I mean running a cable from where the ONT will be installed into my living room and terminating it in a socket on the wall. I've got a Cat 6a cable. If I put an RJ45 connector on the end to connect to the ONT( the other end will terminate in the socket), will that be appropriate for my needs?
Thanks

Find out moreEither RJ45 plug or socket is fine (with the appropriate patch cables): as @Highlinder indicates the ONT has to connect directly to the WAN port on a Sky Broadband Hub or other (Sky-compatible) router. By itself the ONT is not capable of routing or other router functions (DNS/DHCP etc).
