Hi,
At 12pm today, I lost internet. Bt openreach engineers have been in my close this morning at the box doing whatever they were doing and boom... red light (LOS) is on my box in the frontroom! Im fuming! My son has a severe cardiac condition and we need internet to send ECG's via a hub to his cardiac consultant several times aday! I have an engineer booked from sky to visit tomorrow but worried as i have seen on other threads that he probably cant fix it. This is an emergency. Any help appreciated.

There isnt anything more the forum can do, you have an engineer booked to look at the problem thats the best that can be done.
Its worth noting any fixed line service can have problems/downtime especially domestic ones that are bound by normal SLAs. If yours sons system is that critical and reliant on an internet connection it may be worth looking at a mobile network backup for it.

A Sky 'engineer' can only deal with your Hub and its connection to the ONT: they have no access to (and aren't permitted to touch) the Openreach fibre infrastructure past the ONT. As @jamesn123 indicates, in your situation you really need a backup option which is independent of the fibre-optic (and local power too) such as a cellular router with a data SIM and battery backup: domestic broadband simply cannot be made sufficiently robust to rule out down-time.
