Broadband
It’s now 9pm and i’m waiting for broadband to be activated today. I have pretty much had enough. I received the text at 8am.
Hi. Your Sky Broadband & Talk will be remotely activated today anytime up to midnight. You can check progress at Sky.com/ordertracking-comms - once you're activated, we'll send a text to confirm.

Customer service
I can’t believe how horrendous the customer service has become with these guys. Every single time I call, I’m given a completely different excuse for when my broadband will be restored. It’s like no one has a clue what’s going on! And to top it off, TWO agents have had the nerve to slam the phone down on me. Absolutely disgraceful! After 20 years as a loyal customer, this is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. The incompetence and total lack of respect is astonishing. SKY, you should be ashamed of yourselves. How can you treat your customers this way? It’s beyond pathetic.

Re: Customer service
Sky will only be able to update you with whatever information Openreach have told them as to when your service will be started. As you've been told it can be any time up until midnight. Whilst putting the phone down on you is not good customer service we haven't heard the call as to what happened or was said prior to that action being taken.

Re: Customer service
I’m beyond furious with Sky’s incompetence. What are some decent alternatives for TV and broadband packages?

Re: Broadband
Although only available in small areas of Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset. That tends to be the case with most altnets because laying private optical infrastructure is incredibly expensive.

Although it's not unknown for data to actually start flowing after midnight.

Basically Virgin (where available) or EE.
Subscription television (as opposed to non-linear streaming content) is actually quite rare.

I've been waiting ages for jurassic to be available in my town in dorset. The works in the road were done ages ago. I'm switching tomorrow so hopefully all will go well and I'll save some money for a better package
