Hi,
Apologies as this may be fairly straightforward!!
I've recently moved to a new flat with an Openreach Master Socket 5C MK4.
I have set up my hub as per instructions (two port socket) to no avail. Power light and wifi light green, internet light remains off.
My questions are:
- We do not have a home phone and therefore don't have a home phone to plug into the phone port on the broadband. Aka step 2 of the set up process. Sorry if I'm being silly here but is this the issue? Do we need a home phone to plug into the broadband port as well so we can have broadband??
- the Openreach socket seems.. flimsy. The outer part comes away very easily and the side clips do not seem to "clip in".. is this the cause?
again, sorry for resorting to the forum
Our activation date was delayed and we have gone a while without wifi
poor mobile data means trying to call up or find out answers online has been a real challenge
appreciate any help in the matter:)

When was/is your activation date?
The socket doesn't sounds great, it may be the/an issue.
Can you run the Broadband Test, this can be done either via the MySky App on mobile data or use this link then share the results here?

Good morning @Skull+Treaty
and thanks for getting back
initial test says an issue, takes me to fix my broadband and following this states to book and engineer
I'm assuming this is the next step then
activation date was 16/08/22
received a text from sky yesterday afternoon saying everything was ready and broadband
(tried again this morning but no luck)
thanks again

If the results say to book an engineer then I'd follow that process to get that booked in.
It may take a couple of days so might be worth calling Sky to let them know you're without access for however long, they may add a credit or the like.
