Broadband strength & Wi-Fi

Can anyone help or advise me? My internet strength is really poor & my son (gaming) can't connect at all. I have the white box plus two extender pods. The sky connection check says speed is 912 but when I check it with a different app as advised by the sky guy who visited it's only at 46. Am paying a fortune for no/limited internet 😔

Re: Broadband strength & Wi-Fi

I tried hard wiring with an Ethernet cable into a more central place in the house which resulted in no internet at all

@Ells73 Moving the hub more central is good, but you should get the same as before the 1Gb/s FF900 service from the sky Hub, so it looks like that cable is bad if you got nothing at all.

Full speed is what sky delivers to the hub over the Fibre connection, Ethernet connected devices if capable will give you that speed, and it is all shared, wireless wi-fi on a device that can do speed's will also show you top speed, and then the further you move away the slower that speed will drop, depending on how well your pods are working similar speeds can be found it all depends on how good the signal is between all three devices.

And for speed related issues good read.
