Hi there, we are currently out of contract with Sky and just paying on a monthly rolling basis as I don't want to enter into a new contract as we have copper broadband connection and there is fibre cables coiled up on the telegraph pole outside my home and we want a new contract with fibre. Since our contract has ended the broadband spotted has almost halved and Sky says I should upgrade my contract to make it faster. There is no way this is just a coincidence that the doped has reduced!!! How can I get the doped back up to where it was before?

On the contrary, it's almost certainly a coincidence (otherwise Ofcom would be very upset)
If the speed is below the Guaranteed Minimum Download Speed then you can insist Sky books Openreach to investigate, but Openreach typically don't work very hard to resolve faults in copper when there's fibre available at an address.

Hi TimmyBGood, I don't have fibre at my address as I previously said, it's coiled up on the telegraph pole outside my house and I believe it's not getting connected this year. Sky say I have a speed guarantee as below but my line may not be able to handle the speed. ( it managed ok for the years prior to reducing my package now all of a sudden it's slowed down the day after I call them.......!!!!!).

I have exactly the same issue. I am out of contract and using copper broadband. Have had Open Reach out once already to fix a total outage. Now have them booked again to address the constant drop outs I have.
When I spoke to Sky to report the fault, their (scripted) response was "upgrade to fibre".
