Re: Broadband seems slower with my upgrade to sky full fibre 150

Problem then is Sky will insist on a Sky only cable and if you have a non sky cable they won't help any further. Found this out when open reach fitted the new fibre box and ran a 5m Etherley to the hub. Sky insisted they couldn't take my complaint any further unless I had a Sky cable. They then sent me the 2m cable and I ended up with the hub behind the sofa....crazy!

@Lesbrown Could see that if sky where wishing to run a test, ie put it all back to the default as a just in case scenario, and as you say there is no fighting with the CS, they have the other end off the phone and anything could be going on. It's not implausible to ask for such but does change possibly the whole dynamic of the testing function.

Thanks Chrisee. The hub position's not moved, same place, away from other objects and very close to the ONT, which is connected using all of Sky's cables and products. My tv is connected via ethernet and my PC is less than 2 metres away from the hub, therefore, performance should not have dropped following the upgrade to Fibre. If anything it should've improved.

@ndv3 How long have you had the PC for! And is all off your testing done via the wireless wi-fi method!

www.wiisfi.com got some reading if you wish to do so or a simpler version also below!

And for speed related issues good read.

Re: Broadband seems slower with my upgrade to sky full fibre 150

@ndv3 Reason for asking the questions are 1. for the last 3.5 years you have done the exact same why does it, and below some theoretical speed's to go with, but if you have a 15year old PC then it just does not get faster because you upped the broadband.

Sky 150Mb/s to the hub if they can with NO Busy traffic via the Openreach delivery but think that is what you are going to get for YOU!

Out of the Sky SR203 hub to your devices, is 50-70% wi-fi so anywhere from 75-105Mb/s anything above is a bonus.

On the SE 210 Booster 50% automatic slower so 37-53Mb/s and again above is a bonus.

Cable Ethernet and IF your device is good enough then tramped up close to your 150Mb/s should be fine.

Wireless devices butt in then speed is all shared all over the place! NETWORKING is a shared resource between all, even after it leaves and off to the Internet!
