Broadband seems slower with my upgrade to sky full fibre 150
Hi,
I have always been with Sky for my internet which from memory i thought was 25 ?? though that might not be accurate. I think the old broadband was measure in a different format? whereas now it is in mbps so i do not know how to do a direct comparison
However, before Christmas we upgraded to Sky Full Fibre 150 and they have also installed a booster in another room.
Since the upgrade we are all noticiing that the internet feels slower. I've followed all the troubleshooting ste[s, resets, turning off power, and checking the booster, which has three lights as expected.
When I run Sky's broadband speed test, it consistently shows 151mbps as promised. However, when I check at the same time using Google test, it shows 113 mbps and fast.com shows 120mbps, which is lower. Despite this, Sky insist they are delivering the promised speed.
The upgrade was meant to be much faster, yet it feels worse than our old internet. Am I actually better off with this upgrade? Can anyone help me understand what's happening?

@LC1141 you did not use the chst icon when it was added to your forum pages for 48 hours so it was closed. If you have some pop-up blockers running they will prevent the chat from working so suggest you call in.

I've just switched to fibre 150 and definitely much slower than before. Speed to house always 151mbps but hub to devices is so erratic. Ethernet direct to hub from laptop varies from 23mbps to 123 and to mobile WiFi a metre from hub varies between 8mbps and 123.
This is not what I signed up for....any ideas?

Zimbabwe experiencing the same thing. I upgraded to Fibre150 and the broadband actually feels slower than before. Ive also does the rounds of unplugging, resetting and even getting an engineer out to check all fine. Sky shows consistent underperformance of 80mb speed while speed test shows above 140. somethings not right. overall it 'feels' slower and everything lags or takes longer to open.

They sent a specialist broadband engineer out, after sending me a skypod. He adjusted settings on the hub and things improved.
Keep on complaining

Thanks. I've been on the phone to Sky multiple times and feels like I've hit a dead end - they've sent an engineer round and he's confirmed no issue with setup, and Sky engineers have confirmed all ok on their side, and no one can explain why the broadbands slower. I'll keep trying, thanks.

@ndv3 the speed to the hub will be correct but speeds on your devices are likely to be lower if using WiFi. Things to check first when full fibre was fitted is the hub in a worse position? The cable Sky provide to connect the hub to the ONT is fairly short using a longer ethernet cable can mean you can move the hub higher and away from things like radiators that block the WiFi signal. Inceasing speeds to the hub does not necessarily improve thecspeed an app or web site losds as servers still take time to respond.
