Broadband router to stop working 31st December
I received the below email back in February.
An update on your broadband hub
Hello,
At Sky we are always looking to bring the latest innovative technology to our customers. As we do this, we’re always making improvements to our infrastructure to enhance both its reliability and performance.
In 2022, the UK government published a new security framework to make the UK’s telecommunications infrastructure more resilient.
In line with government guidance, we wanted to let you know while your hub continues to keep you connected to the internet, it will stop receiving service and security updates on the 31 December 2025. To review your options, including how to update or change your hub, visit our portal here. You’ll need to have your Sky ID and password ready to log in.
Thank you for continuing to choose Sky
I am out of contract with Sky Broadband. My contract continues to roll. I am on tne basic broadband not fibre. I purposely not renewed as I will be moving next year.
last week I received an email saying my broadband can remain the same for another year. But wondering if my router will work past December as orginally stated.

@SaraRW Sky should swap your hub even you are not in contract however the hub will not stop working but will no longer receive updates so potentially could become insecure. Most people who move simplr move their broadband service to their new address which Sky normally will arrange free of charge.

Re: Broadband router to stop working 31st December
Thank you. I'm not sure if I'll stay with Sky as their prices for a 'valued customer ' are extreme and insulting. But good to know it should continue to work. I may enquire about upgrading the router but I'm not wanting to renew until I know a moving date. Thank you

If your order the replacement hub it should be with you sometime this week. When I ordered mine at the start of the year on the Monday it turned up on the Wednesday.
