Since morning, sky broadband is down and service checker shows outage. This is blocking work from home and notmmuch details on the outage as well.

If a connection is esential for home working then ideally the user needs to have their own backups in place as no ISP guarantees 100% uptime.
An outage can be caused by numerous factors and would be up to the bnetwork operator to inform the ISPs of what the cause was when they find the issue.
