https://www.sky.com/servicechecker
If there isn't try running the line test here:
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start
You can also run the test via the MySky app on a mobile data connection.
After this has finished and if it reports back all is good click on broadband to run an updated test. If you get amber or red please follow the on screen instructions.

No-one here can tell you that. Hardware swap-out can take a few hours, but cabinet repair, pole replacement or digging might be days or even weeks.
The Openreach target time for an individual domestic repair is two working days starting the next working day morning after the fault is logged by an ISP.

Same here. How are we supposed to know how to plan remote work? Do Sky offer anything in the meantime?

Only a cellular data increase for Broadband Boost customers if they also have a Sky Mobile account.
