Find out more@J+Shead there is a simple automated way to check more than whether there is a known outage simply run the connection test in the My Sky app which works over a mobile connection. It will tell you if Sky are aware of an issue affecting your line it is far more accurate than the status page. The problem is small local issues simply dont get reported to Sky If the line is working the test can check for faults, book engineers and give you a useful ,history report..
Sky will check your line every 24 hours if you buy their Broadband Boost bundle at £5 oer month see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-boost?DCMP=emc-skycom:na_boost
There are services from other ISPs that are more pro-active but they cost considerably more and in general designed for business use rather than the domestic service you are buying from Sky.
The one thing nobody can accurately able to predict is how long an outage will last.

Why isn't there a simple toolkit that can confirm an outage in your area
how long it's been out for
expected eta to be resolved
or even notification by text that there is an outage
it's not difficult !!!!!

Have you checked this page also? https://www.sky.com/help/servicestatus
It's possible there could be maintenance, if not you'll need to log a fault with Sky when the open.

Easy tactic for sky to just deflect you to its user community

Woke up to no BB in Corringham, no idea when it went down, apparently aware of outage... no idea how long it's been down or when it will be back up & working!!! I noticed major outage up North (with Sky) yesterday!!
just hope it's not too long!! 😱😱😥😥
