With broadband packages provided by Sky, the price is inclusive of landline or VoIP telephone service built into the price.

Find out moreTerrestrial broadband requires a data bearer cable (copper or optical) and that's what was previously referred to as a 'landline': any rental charge for this is bundled into the monthly broadband subscription. Whether or not it carries voice traffic is different: Sky provisions a Pay as you Talk 'phone' service as standard, so if you don't make calls using it there's no additional charge.

If you are in a Full Fibre enabled area you make calls via the internet's so don't have a true phone line, if you have Fibre to Cabinet, you have to have a phone line, of course you don't have to use it...
