I have been having on going issues with my broadband and my phone for a while now and not getting the most out of my WiFi when at home. I'm having to keep using my mobile data to download things and get stuff to send on certain apps

You can check the speed to your hub which is what Sky guarantee by running the full connection test in the My Sky app - ignore the initial result click through to run the full test - as that will tell you the current speed and the history for the last couple of weeks. If the spedd is slow then the app shoukd ofer to book an engineer.
If thst is fine tgen the issue is poor WiFi in your home. WiFi signal strength is affected by the layout and type of construction of your home.
