Broadband is very intermittent and stutters

My broard band was upgraded and the open reach engineer put it in a different room , they was told the room has insulation on the walls ceiling and floor , this would stop the broardband getting out to our other rooms this was not the room it was originally in and thus they proceeded to do the install this has now taken over eight months to try get this sorted out with Sky

we still have the issue and because the offer has new ended they want to put up my Sky from £32.00 per month to £63.00 pm

I am now having to wait for them to listen to a call I had when they told me an engineer would come back to me on the 09th jan with in 72hrs to reposition the main box , because they are saying now  I have to pay upfront £65.00 and I refuse to pay this , to me this is a breach of the contract due to Sky are not supplying the service I am paying for , told them either sort it or I will cancel my subscription with them , Sky say I can't because I am in contract ?
this can't be right ?

@T18LFC

Actually Sky are 100% in the right. Openreach have no obligation to install the Fibre ONT/Master socket in the room of your choosing, by their guidelines they only run a cable of 10-15m from the original contact point of the cable to your property. They will take into account any access restrictions & neighbouring properties before routing the cable to the most appropriate point.

The £65 charge Sky have mentioned is the normal price for a 'ONT/Master socket relocation' this service is bookable if you wish to change the location of the ONT/Master socket to neaten things up or get it more central. Because this is a paid service the engineer has more flexibility as to where they can position the new cable entry.

@T18LFC When I had FTTP installed the engineer that came was a third party working on behalf of openreach but they discussed with me where the ONT could go the engineer wanted to put it almost at ground level next to the electrical socket I suggested that I wanted it at a higher level as we have a cupboard that the router sits on and wanted the ONT just above the cupboard height he agreed and went ahead and installed it where i suggested.

Did they not discuss this with you and did whoever the adult that was there when they installed it not explain they didn't want it in that room .

You can use a longer ethernet cable from the ONT to the router to move the router to a different room
