Certainly not unusual: strictly speaking there should be a circular foam bung in the duct entrance.

 

The duct and the cable cover routinely don't line up.

Thanks for your reply just looks awful on the front of our house, covered by a plant pot for now. Other pics I've seen online they seem to line up. Will send Sky a message
