I have broadband boost and I am upgrade to fibre. I am still going to be charged for boost. When asked why I was told they can't remove it. Anyone know why I would need it?

Sky would argue you are getting the following benefits:
It's up to you to judge the value for money. Sky should let you cancel Boost unless you originally committed to an 18 month minimum period on it.
