Broadband and sky Q box

My sky Q mini box which is upstairs keeps on losing WiFi connection.   I have spoken to sky and they said that they are going to send an engineer out to fit a booster but my broadband is not with sky it is with Virgin, would that matter?

Sky boosters fitted to resolve Q television issues work with broadband from any ISP: what they don't do is boost connectivity for other devices.
