Broadband activation

Hi ,

Recently moved into a new property and need broadband set up so called sky got a deal sorted but can't get a engineer out till the 31st so got a month with WiFi which isn't ideal . When having a look my property has a openreach modem and pos light is illuminated . Does this mean I can get my broadband activated remotely and not have to wait for a engineer visit ? Thanks.

@Luketay it is unlikely that you can get the install moved forward as it is Openreach who do the work and they set the dates based on the known amount of work required. The only possibility is the database is showing more steps than are required as if there is an Openreach ONT in the new property then it should be a remote activation.

Enter the full address of the property in this checker https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome

and on the FTTP line scan across to the Install required  column which should read 0 if the property already has an operational fibre connection. If it reads 1 or 2 steps that means Openreach are expecting to do extra work on site.. if that is wrong then you could talk to Sky to see if they can get the work rescheduled based on your informstion but there will be a minimum 14 day leadtime on that new order. Personally I would leave it alone as there is a risk that it will take even longer if Openreach reject the change.

I have a new to sky, this sky Broadband up and running within 2 weeks, although this can sometimes take longer. Existing customer? If you're moving home it may take us up to 2 weeks - occasionally longer - so please contact us when you know the date.
