MySky app INCORRECTLY shows speeds of 11mbs, & averaging 10mbs? The speeds on ookla show 1.26mbs & I presently cannot stream video's at all??
It is currently fluctuating between 0.6 - 2.9mbs!! And I am unable to stream at all!!

note sky won't accept third party readings

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Ged2wilson the app show the speed being delivered by Sky to your Hub. A wired connection to your Hub should give speeds of around 10Mbps.
If you're connecting via WiFi your speed may be significantly less than that depending on WiFi conditions within your home.

That would be very poor for FTTC (and less than half what even ADSL is capable of on a short line) which suggests you are in a challenging location or using older technology.
If you post your Hub stats, we'll have some information about your particular phone line and internet connection to work with.
Note that it's speed arriving at the Hub which counts against the minimum speed guarantee, not speed test website results on a wireless device.

The sky one reports your line speed, or "sync" speed. Ookla (in your case no doubt on a device connected via WiFi) is measuring the speed of the devices connection to the router, then to the internet. If the WiFi is suffering and is really poor, this incorrectly leads people to think the broadband is running much worse than it actually is.

The 'PPPoA' shows that's ADSL2+ running at about half the maximum speed the technology is capable of, so presumably there's something like 2800 metres line distance to the telephone exchange.
ADSL is essentially obsolete these days, particularly as the outbound speed is inherently extremely limited. If you try your address at https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome this should indicate if something better is available.

Note on the router stats that the system is downloading at about 9.2Mbps downstream at the time the router stats were taken and posted.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreYou have a lot of traffic on your router for it only being up for 1.5hrs. I suspect whats happening is you have a busy house or a single device that is bandwidth heavy so whenever you try and use other devices or run a speedtest it looks like your connection is slow because you are trying to share a fairly low speed connection. Ideally you need to upgrade to fibre if its available to you.
