Has anyone else had a similar issue to this, broadband speed is 14mbps at best, been on the phone to sky, they blamed everything being connected and the signal is split between devices. Fair enough, disconnected EVERYTHING including the sky Q box and all the wifi connections and retested and it was worse 13. something(connected to ethernet cable). Upload is non existant, can't sync games on steam(only sends packets for save files pretty small really). Worse today, all the checks saying we have 40mbps coming in, made a isdn cable out of some spare ethernet cable and tried that in case of cable issues, no change, Iphones are pathetically slow, I go on data and I'm semi rural and its still 10X faster!
Several reboots and a reset while on the phone, whoever we spoke to constantly blaming multiple devices and doing something to the settings for age limits, are these sky routers as dodgy as the superhubs off virgin (had that set in modem mode as it was 5mbps on wifi at best) frustrated as yet again paying for a service I'm not getting, is it possible to use your own router with Sky?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@JennieRedfern if you look at the stats youu posted your download is limited to 40Mb/s and your upload is very low at 0.5Mb/s The connection dropped some 40 minutes before the state were taken assuming thst wasn't something you initiated it looks like you have a line fault.
Whether Sky or more importantly Openreach will do anything about it depends on hour guaranteed minimum download speed (there are guarantees on upload) However listen to the voice line as it is quite likely to be crackly if so then report that fault as it will have to be fixed and should sort the broadband issue at the same time.

Appologies for a massive delay in any response, first waited for a cheap wired landline phone to come from Amazon to try the line as we don't use it. The line was crackly(a little) then I heard some strange clicky echoes on the line, BT/openreach have been out and tested the line and while the technician was here he said the clicking was them upgrading the line which SKY should have been aware of, now the line should be fine, he tested it and said its ok at the wall. Showed him the results of a test and he reckons the router needs replacing, the upload is a bad as it was if not worse and the speed on ethernet varies between 11 and 13 mbps with EVERYHTING else disconnected. I'm starting to think the router is bad as have had this before with different suppliers. Any advice to try appreciated.
