Re: Fibre down in Ladywell Livingston

From the sky app and sky.com when I check my connection and WiFi.  Each time it reports as no issues down..

Thanks for the info.

I don't suppose there is any way of knowing if it's a sky or openreach issue. I need to find a reliable provider as I work from home and can't afford outages.

Sky app is telling me there is an issue now, but on the website it's all good apparently 😂

BT fibre is also down in Murieston - Virgin may be the answer as they have their own cables

WiFi connection keeps going. Happened multiple times throughout the day, just loses connection on multiple devices, even the sky box, then comes back.

Each time the broadband checker says "no issues".

This is in saltash

Re: Broadband Issues 10th May 2024

I was considering virgin media, but heard horror stories about their reliability too.. not much incentive to.be reliable if there is no better option unfortunately!

Someone will be along to reset a hub somewhere and cross their fingers until it dies again a week later. Sorry, I work in IT, I know how it is 😂

Re: Broadband Issues 10th May 2024

I moved from Virgin about a year ago and it was more reliable but costly hence move to Sky ! Connectivity just hasnt been the same tho

WiFi in Chertsey not working - what can I do?

Woken up to no WiFi KT16 area.  No known problems in the area.  What should I do?  Tried switching off and on again!

Have you rebooted your router as well as the puck?

Then you'll know that a system with multiple single points of failure cannot be considered 'reliable': that's as true for any Openreach ISP as it is for Virgin, because on neither network are customers prepared to pay enough for redundancy in local equipment or data routing.

Re: Broadband Issues 10th May 2024

Isn't 10th anymore but my broadband has been going off between 7pm-2am for the past week. When I use all the checkers everything seems to be fine, yet everything disconnects from wifi, it can be once and then come back on a few seconds later to continously going off and on for hours. Paying a fair bit for this and its ridiculous now

For disconnections which occur regularly at particular times it's worth investigating if there's anything locally working on the same kind of timing: typical suspects might be a central heating pump or microwave oven, for example.
