Broadband Conflict: Sky & Gigaclear
Hello,
I live in a rural area and whilst Sky broadband has been ok for TV, it is challenging for me working from home from time to time or when the teenagers are at home trying to play games or stream.
I therefore recently had Gigaclear install another network. I am now able to have Sky for TV and all other functions are switched to Gigaclear which is providing the bandwidth I need.
The only issue is that since I have done this, I get pixelation when watching Sky or Netflix or Amazon through Sky. Does anyone know if this is because of any potential conflict between the two networks being on the same frequency (eg either both on 2.5 or 5.0) and what I could do, if anything, to resolve this? I would prefer to keep both service providers.
Whilst I have chosen one supplier, perhaps this could happen if someone has two service providers. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thank you

Re: Broadband Conflict: Sky & Gigaclear
With sky q and sky as your isp both 2.4ghz and 5 ghz are required
Any other isp can only make use of 2.4ghz so is prone to interference from neighbouring network ssids when streaming

Re: Broadband Conflict: Sky & Gigaclear
Thank you. So there is nothing I can do to stop the inteference when watching Sky as long as I have two ISPs working at the same time?
It is interesting to know that the other ISP is restricted to using 2.4ghz though I don't expect that is deteriorating the service.
I appreciate your comments. Thanks

Re: Broadband Conflict: Sky & Gigaclear
If you are running sky and gigaclear then try disabling 2.4ghz on their router as this is no doubt interfering with the 2.4ghz on sky . So use gigaclear 5ghz for all other applications and sky 2.4ghz and 5ghz for sky q and they should be able to co exist
