Booster for Sky Broadband Hub 4.2
Hi,
I am on a sky ultrafast (150 Mbps using g.fast) contract which gives me very suboptimal wifi in one of the rooms. I do not have the paid "broadband boost" subscription. I am looking to get a sky wifi booster which I understand is not officially sold outside of this subscription but can be found. Now, I am trying to understand: I have the broadband hub (internally apparently called sky hub 4.2) which looks like the Sky Broadband Booster (but is black).
I am looking to buy a sky booster since I expect that to work more seamlessly together compared to buying a 3rd party repeater. Do all of the sky boosters (it looks like there is also a Sky Q booster, and a sky wireless booster, as well as the sky broadband booster) work together or would I need to source the sky broadband booster which I assume sky would install if I had the subscription? I know this is not officially supported, but I assume it is a feasible solution in my situation.
Do these official sky boosters work like a mesh system or is it different?
Thanks so much for your help!

Re: Booster for Sky Broadband Hub 4.2
@scolasticus The sky booster's for the Sky Broadband Hub that you have which if it is G.Fast connection would be the SR204 hub, then the official sky booster is the SE210, they are not mesh system boosters but rather act as a range extender so there is a little speed hit as attached to the booster wireless it has to gather and retransmit to the hub! You really want to get the sky broadband booster if ease off connection is what you are looking at!

By definition a 'mesh' requires more than two nodes, because the whole point is it employs preferential routing for greater efficiency. As @JimM1 indicates, a single unit in addition to the Hub is a 'booster' (actually a relay or repeater) to extend range.
