Book a 'HUMAN' engineer to fix router issue

I need to book a Broadband engineer - I have had the latest and fastest router delivered and the signal is worse that my old one! I've tried every reboot, WPD reset, turning everything off, in fact I have tried EVERYTHING!!! I simply need to book an engineer to come to my property to see WHY these issues are happening??? I am also being chased to return the old router but currently that one is working and the new is NOT! How hard can it be to simply get a 'human' to speak to or come to the house to fix the issue. I'm currently paying for an upgraded service that is not working! I'm not returning the old router until this matter is resolved. Can I speak to someone asap or get an appointment booked????

@JCG As soon as you call sky, then you can speak to CS when you get through to an actual person!

Yes, call Sky. Calls to Sky will initially be automated which may try to send you here to the forum, offer you online help or offer to send you a text. Stay on the line as long as possible and saying nothing when asked the reason for the call sometimes helps being put in the queue for an agent.
