Blocking Websites - What am i doing wrong

I have a Sky SR203 router and I have attempted to block youtube using the

Security > Block Sites feature (Always)

Block Sites Containing these Keywords or Domain Names:

www.youtube.com

youtube.com

youtube

Yet still it can be access via all connected devives to the router eitehr web or via app

Once i can get it working i'll tweek the settings to block on schedule

Any idea where I am going wrong

@AJOK

An easier way is to use the broadband shield to block youtube but be aware it is pretty easy to bypass. The broadband shield is available by accessing your account on the Sky site settings and works by blocking at the DNS level.

And the method of using the router to block sites is only relevant to unencrypted websites, eg: those not using HTTPS and these in this day and age are rare. And unfortunately, the broadband shield does not have a timed schedule feature.

@AJOK not sure what you are trying to do but if you are trying to control access to You Tube by a child can you not use Google's built-in systems see here?

Re: Blocking Websites - What am i doing wrong

The ideal scenario was to stop access to YouTube at certain points of the day.

My 11 and 8 year old have a habit of coming in from school and putting youtube on, either their tablets, nintendo switch or main TVs.

We do tell them no youtube in week/after school/before bed and removing their devices does sometimes prevent but they (and we) do tend to slip.

So a youtube block 4-10pm Monday to  friday would help.

Also, in the mornings before school the TV and YouTube is on.

In terms of content, they are sensible just tired of hearing and seeing the same nonsense
