Re: Be careful - expected download speeds are not what you will receive!
Do note that Wifi will not offer gigabit, depite marketing, only a wired connection will 1gbps constantly
Please use a wired Ethernet connection, wifi has too many factors at play
For example, my personal connection is 2.5gbps symmetrical - I get that on wired, but wireless gets around 800-900mb/s depending on network conditions

this is what I was asking - why wasn't I offered it if I've had the 900Mb/s gigafast connection installed
There appears to be a bug in the Sky ordering system: existing customers with G.fast cannot order WiFi Max even when upgrading to FTTP because the nature of the current internet connection blocks the Mx Hub model from being allocated to the account. Presumably this should really be possible retrospectively but that appears to be a problem too.

I wasn't an existing customer though - I only had the copper connection before.

If you had 150Mbs over copper then it was G.fast, and it's this which seems to cause the glitch with the Sky order processing for WiFi Max.

Ah OK - I thought the 150 Mb/s was called Ultrafast and the G-Fast stood for GigaFast. Nothing makes sense!
