My WIFI is/has been terrible and i would love a solution to speed it up. When i download things (games etc) it says its max 1-2mbps. PostCode = AL2 1UR
|Port||Status||TxPkts||RxPkts||Collision Pkts||Tx b/s||Rx b/s||Up Time|
|Connection Speed||30000 kbps||6000 kbps|
|Line Attenuation||23.2 dB||0.0 dB|
|Noise Margin||9.0 dB|

When you do a speed test you said you get 16Mbps while downloading games you get 1-2MBps, there is a difference between these two: Mbps =megabits per second, MBps = megabytes per second. Approx. there is 8bits to 1MB so thats why you are having a slow download speed opposed to when you do a speed test as they both use different forms of measurement. However, you can change the speed in which is measured on speed test to MBps.

Other than @zxphyr's post, the contents of which are perfectly correct, there are two things to look at. First, your router is reporting a raised noise margin of 9dB (should be 6dB) which is reducing your connection speed to 30Mbps. Assuming your router is plugged into the master phone socket, that indicates a fault with your line, that it would be worth contacting Sky about. Even so, on a wired connection to your router, you should be seeing speed test results of 25Mbps or more. The lower result you're seeing of 16.9Mbps, is the result of WiFi issues. The first thing I'd try to improve that, is to change the wireless channel in your router settings. Try 1,6 and 11 first, then 3,9 and 13 and see which gives you the best performance.
