BT master socket to sr203 hub cabling

For various reasons I wish to place my sr203 hub next to my ethernet-connected main computer situated upstairs. The distance between the BT type 5c master socket situated downstairs and the sr203 hub upstairs will be some 15m. Can I use an already-installed cat6 ethernet cable to connect from the master socket to the sr203 hub via an RJ11 (i.e. dsl) to ethernet (i.e. RJ45) crossover connector, such as available from amazon, at the master socket end and a corresponding ethernet to rj11 crossover connector at the hub ?

I presume this should work but would it cause any problems?

@Malcolm+E.+Day not tried it myself but dont see any reason why it wont work. Not sure you need crossover connectors as such as using 2 gets you back where you were anyway.😀 In theory it should work the signal is on a single pair (the two middle wires in 4 core R11 cable IIRC) as long as continuity is maintained in the adapters .

You are transferring a muti frequency VDSL signal at this stage as the data is carried on high frequency carrier signals so a poor connection will impact speeds but 15 m should be fine. Ideally you would leave the hub where it is and use the ethernet cable on the LAN with a switch and or a wifi access point near the PC but assume you have reasons not to do that.
