BT OPENREACH UNABLE TO INSTALL CABLES
I am a new customer to sky and due for activation on 16th July. However I have had an engineer out today from BT Openreach but they told me they can't install cables to my property as it would mean digging up the road and which they have not been given permission. I live in a block of flats and he said they have had issues before here. He then said leave it with me and sat in his van for a while and drove off!! Now im not sure whats happening. Anyone else had any issues like like.

Re: BT OPENREACH UNABLE TO INSTALL CABLES
Hard to work out whats happening . In a block of flats that should read mdu (multiple dwelling unit ) not single dwelling unit.
Also it says overhead feed not UG underground which negates the need to dig anything up.
Openreach should update sky tomorrow with an update

Re: BT OPENREACH UNABLE TO INSTALL CABLES
Ok thank you for your help. I shall see what happens next. My next door neighbour has sky. There's a dish on the outside of the building 🤷♀️
Thank you again. Will keep you updated, you've been very helpful 👍

That's almost certainly for satellite television rather than anything to do with broadband.
Historically Sky (like every other ISP) has supplied broadband over copper cable, but this is now being superceded by optical fibre.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2
