Re: Asking for a username and password to access the WiFi. ( This is different the the WiFi name and
@Blaine4 this is a misleading screen what has happened is your Wifi Max hub has lost its connection but rather than tell you that Sky's sloppy programming is giving you the log in screen for the hub's web interface which is no help even if you could log in. You can try if you like the username is admin and the password is the Wifi password on the label. You get access to loads of technical details but nothing thst will restore your connection.
You need to log into the My Sky app over a mobile connection and run the connection check, the first result you see will probably say everything is fine ignore click to run the test again and the system will tell you if Sky are aware of a fault affecting your line if it doesn't give them a call to report it.
@mae-3 tge Superusers are trying to get this fixed at a guess we think its coming from the US programming that linked to some help screens.

The URL is used by Google devices to check DNS connectivity for such things as Google Hubs from my analytics for DPI on my firewall.

@mae-3 thinking about it we are only seeing this coming up on the SR213 so I think it is part of the hub's programming as in the US apparently it shows some help screens.

Re: Asking for a username and password to access the WiFi. ( This is different the the WiFi name and
When DNS requests are not forwarded to Google DNS servers, that URL is called to ascertain whether there is a connectivity issue, blocking Google DNS servers isn't a wise move by Sky. Whether the data for DNS should be redirected to alternative DNS servers is very questionable but clearly for security Sky wants their DNS servers to be used.
