Apple Support asked me to contact Sky and try to establish if Sky are using, or experimenting with auto VPN on my line?
Across several different sites I randomly receive messages saying my access to the site is restricted due to suspicious activity and flooding their sites. Solving a Capcha or exit browser and try again usually sorts the problem.
Apple support have looked deeply into this and say it has all the hallmarks of VPN problems, but I don't use VPN. Do Sky?

@Robin222 Why would a large ISP with a full DNS set up use a VPN? Certainly nothing to suggest Sky are experimenting and I think Apple support are stuck for an answer.
However Sky use MAP-T to share IP4 addresses between 8 customers on the white Sky hubs which has been in place for a year which could be the issue if someone using the same address has been naughty. Powering down your hub for an hour should force a change in IP address.

Re: Are Sky using auto VPN on my line?
There are broadband companies in the US now who provide auto VPN to their customers.
Thanks for the tip resetting IP, sounds like a tremendous possibility, fingers crossed I'll let you know 🙏

UK internet regulation requires ISPs to have website blocking by default, and VPN provision would completely undermine this.
