Re: Anyone been able to connect third party router to Sky FTTP router..
Hi James/Chris
The switch to router mode seems to have done the trick. How bizarre it wasn’t connecting in AP mode? I didn’t legislate for that sub category. Thought it was router mode connected directly to ONT, or AP mode when connected to Sky hub? Only option Zi haven’t tried is AP mode while connected to ONT.
Many thanks to you both.

Re: Anyone been able to connect third party router to Sky FTTP router..
Your right, when using the Sky router inbetween the ONT & 3rd Party router you should only use AP mode, not router mode. This is because your essentially creating two networks with two different IP address spaces which creates double NAT.
Using AP mode while connected directly to the ONT wouldnt work because you need some form of router to authenticate against Sky's servers and then manage your LAN.

Thanks. I was joking about AP mode directly connected to ONT. I wonder why it wasn't connecting in the orthodox way? Will probably never know.
Thanks anyway.

Wouldnt have a clue to be honest. As others have already said Sky Q is a mystery sometimes. I have never messed with it while using a device in AP mode so haven't really got any first hand experience to go off.
