Adding broadband and phone to my SKY TV package
Long time SKY Q customer and am considering adding SKY boadband/landline. In the past I enquired about SKY matching the speed my wife has with Virgin (200+ Mbps) and it was not then possible. Has anything changed over the years? Is all SKY broadband Full Fibre now?
I was told recently in an email from City Fibre that Full Fibre is now available at our address so I did follow the link and entered our address which showed 20+ providers for us to choose from, Sky was included. I did not go ahead and accept it thankfully as have now been told by Open Reach that they are nowhere near connecting our address to Full Fibre (from the cabinet I presume) and cannot give a date in the foreseeable future. Has anyone been caught out like this?
I presume people are booking full fibre thinking there is no hold up but surely there must be.
Thoughts appreciated.

No, because the national FTTP rollout currently reaches around 55% of addresses. Sky still resells FTTC, G.fast and indeed ADSL which are all copper broadband services but these typically aren't available on new orders once there's full fibre in the area.

Sky signed a carriage deal with CityFibre last year, and has been provisioning Sky Broadband over CityFibre infrastructure for a few months: they just announced 2.5Gbs and 5Gbs options.

CityFibre isn't Openreach: it is a competitor using investment capital to lay its own optical fibre network, typically in urban and suburban areas. It's entirely possible (indeed certain) there's extremely fast CityFibre service available in many locations that Openreach FTTP has yet to get to: that's essential to their business model.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2
