I recently moved to WiFi max with the new white router. I have some Samsung speakers that connect via WiFi and are grouped to form a surround sound system connecting to my Samsung tv. Trouble is, if they connect to one of the new channels (say channel 100), then the speakers will not group. I get a message on the Samsung Multiroom app saying 'your WiFi channel (DFS) does not support surround.' As the new router prevents splitting the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands, I can not force connection to a 2.4ghz channel. So I am considering purchasing a cheapish access point - perhaps something like a TP-Link travel WiFi router - and creating an extra WiFi ssid for the speakers to connect to. Thoughts appreciated?

One issue tgst may happen is if your speakers are controlled by an app is that the app may not pick them up if the devicecthst is running the app is on a different WiFi network. Some apps hit issues others dont.

Thanks for your quick reply Chrisee. Yep, regarding the app control, I would have to switch to the same ssid on my phone to add the speakers. Otherwise seems a fairly cheap and easy solution- albeit unnecessary if Sky allowed the bands to be split on the new router. Thanks for your thoughts.
