Activation taking 3 weeks because ONT was off at time of ordering Sky.

I ordered Sky on moving into our new house on 8 Mar 25 and was given an Activation Date of 14 Mar, as the house had Openreach Full Fibre and the previous occupants had been with Sky. But because the ONT was switched off at the time of my order, Openreach decided there was a line fault and delayed our activation till 26 Mar. I immediately switched the ONT on and it shows  solid greens on Power & PON and no light on LOS, so I'm thinking the line is fine, but Sky Customer Service say they can't ask Openreach to change the delayed activation date. This means we have no internet for 3 weeks and there are no usable mobile phone signals at our address to fill the gap. It would be helpful if Sky could ask new customers to make sure their ONT is ON prior to placing their order.

First time I have heard of this requirement but if it is one then it would be good for Sky to tell customers.

Re: Activation taking 3 weeks because ONT was off at time of ordering Sky.

I'm finally online now 4 weeks after placing my order with Sky. Engineer came and agreed there was no fault and phoned his Indian Call Centre to activate the line. So having your ONT on at time or ordering is important. Otherwise you create a problem that apparently can't be solved by anyone except by an Openreach engineer coming to your house for an unnecessary visit.
