Activation date for full fibre
I've recently moved and have an engineer visit for Thursday. They will install fibre to the home. My existing internet at my old property will go down on Wednesday.
I could really do with a working internet connection throughout Wednesday. Can I plug in my router which I was told to take with me and have any chance of a working connection over the existing copper line at the new house already?
The router is still at my old property to get internet there for as long as possible, but I'd move it if I thought I could access a working connection in advance of the engineer visit.
Second question, will the engineer run the fibre around the outside of the house to bring it into the house where the previous owner has a network switch set up to distribute on cat 6 cabling? Or will they go line of least resistance into the property? I'm not savvy enough to know if the network switch is even the preferred route. I do value a good Xbox connection.
Many thanks

Almost certainly won't work, unless perhaps the previous occupants were Sky subscribers and had neglected to cancel: even then it's far from likely.

Simplest route is preferred, but they have some leeway within the length limit of the fibre pigtail.

Ethernet is almost always preferable to WiFi
