ASUS Router

So I recently got 1GB installed this morning and I own two Asus RT-AC86U routers that I ran Ai mesh on. I used to be with VM and you had to have it in modem mode in order to connect the Asus routers.

My question is how do I get them to work with the Sky Hub? I want to use my Sky Hub and the routers just for Ai-Mesh like before.

If you need the phone from Sky then you will need to connect the Ai-Mesh in Access Point (AP) mode connected to the Sky router via a LAN ethernet connection.

If you don't need the phone then the Asus can connect directly to the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) using DHCP Option 61 and DHCPv6 PD authentication.

No Sky router has a 'modem mode', so your setup will inevitably be different to VM

Re: ASUS Router

So I have an Ethernet cable going from my Asus router to my sky hub and I still can't get into the Asus router with 192.168.1.1. I even reset the router and still wont bring up the install page

For setup you need a cable from the LAN port on the Asus to a PC, once you have set it up connect it to the Sky router LAN and WAN port on the Asus.

Yea thats right because the Sky hub runs on 192.168.0.XXX network whereas the Asus default network is 192.168.1.XXX so you'll need connect directly to the Asus router on a device rather than connect it to your Sky hub for the setup.

@MagnumSkyWolf  I have a DSL AX82U & set up by & opening a web browser & entered http://router.asus.com, then followed setup instructions.

Can you not use  the ASUS Router app for setup, for your router, your router is supported. https://www.asus.com/content/asus-router-app/

Re: ASUS Router

Can this Asus router cause the orange voice  light Issue that can be rectified by removing the ethernet cable to the ONT and re connecting?
